In 1982 RBL incorporated and started transplanting trees and shrubs with an 80" tree spade in the Lehigh Valley. Today we have grown to be one of the larger tree transplanters and one of the few companies that grow our own trees in the Lehigh Valley. We are owner/operators who can offer the most effective and experienced service in selecting, moving and caring for mature trees. We can easily move and transplant trees from 1" to 10" trunk diameter and evergreens up to 30' tall.
Our trees have the highest livability and survival rate since they
are locally grown and accustomed to our climate. We have 3 different
size tree spades from the smallest, 36” Red Boss, 48” Red Boss, to the larger
80" Big John. This state of the art equipment allows us to apply the proper
techniques and tools to ensure a professional look, suit the needs
of our customers and lasting quality. The round root ball formed by our uniquely
designed tree spades allows for better soil and root retention and
optimal transplant success. We always exceed the American Nurseryman Association
specifications by using a larger size spade. Because our trees are
grown locally transplanted to and in close proximity to your job site, the
savings is passed on to you, the customer. RBL, Inc. owns over 150 acres
of nursery land and because of our working relations with local growers we
are able to provide our customers with more sizes and varieties.
RBL welcomes customers to inspect its varied selection of large
plant material before installation. (By appt only)All trees are inspected
by the State of Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture.
We can help you achieve maximum beauty and value to your property with your landscape projects by rearranging and transplanting your existing trees or helping you select new trees from our large selection of locally grown conifers and deciduous trees.  You can have the landscape environments that you want now without waiting 15 to 25 years for a smaller tree to grow, spading trees is cost effective. We relocate trees on residential and commercial property as well as property under development, moving trees to a temporary location and back to a permanent location. Any tree under 10" can be transplanted with the appropriate size root ball and proper before, during and after care. This is not to suggest that it is feasible to transplant any tree any time. Our staff will select the most effective equipment, utilizing a number of factors, addressing different regions, plant varieties and soils. Trees transplanted using a mechanical transplanter always survive and thrive better than using a backhoe or other types of equipment. The larger the caliper of the tree, the more this applies. This is not to say that it is always economically or logistically feasible to use a mechanical transplanter instead of the ball and burlap methods.
Whether you are planting large trees or small trees, your trees
or our trees, RBL will take all the precautions, minimizing damage to any
existing landscape and insuring proper techniques. We work with many developers,
large and small, golf courses, and excavating companies. RBL can transplant
trees from March through December, but on occasion in Jan and February depending
on the weather and road restrictions. We are fully licensed, insured and
